Inkjet Factory™ System Technical Details
Many
of the key industrial quality components that comprise the Inkjet Factory system
are also available separately. These are SME’s SpinMaxx™ 100 centrifuge, JetClean™
100 atomized water jet cleaner, and VersaFill™ deep vacuum refill unit.
Inkjet Factory’s centrifuge -- based on SME’s SpinMaxx™ 100
With a capacity of over 120 cartridges per hour this small-footprint powerhouse is rugged, fully programmable, and affordable for most every application. The unit has a number of noteworthy features and capabilities.
- Because it is microprocessor-controlled, its critical acceleration and deceleration rates are fully programmable.
- This capability has proven to result in less foam shifting and nozzle-plate damage than centrifuge types.
- It requires no additional fixtures. It comes with a 4-up universal cartridge fixture which works for most every cartridge type.
- The cartridge nest is located only 2” below the top-loading housing door so cartridge loading and extraction is extremely quick and efficient.
- The unit has a built-in door lock for operator safety.
- It has a four cartridge per minute spin cycle.
- It is durable enough for both retail and production-line environments.
Inkjet Factory’s cartridge cleaner -- based on SME’s JetClean™ 100
The JetClean unit penetrates and unclogs cartridge nozzles better than anything
else on the market by utilizing its unique atomized water-jet system.
- Using an atomization process (mixture of air and water), the unit releases a pressurized spray consisting of droplets approximately 20 microns in size. This spray is generated from the nozzle with a force of 30 psi. allows the unit to penetrate the small, hard-to-reach spaces on print cartridges that other cleaners often miss
- Unlike ultrasonic or steam cleaning methods, the atomization process thoroughly cleans print heads, as well as cartridge interiors and exteriors, without causing any damage.
- This system is so effective that only purified water is necessary for most applications, although certain non-flammable solutions can be used on pigmented inks.
- Studies have found that, depending upon the type of cartridge, using the JetClean
100 prior to refilling produces a 20-50% increase in the yield of successfully processed
cartridges.
Note: SME introduced atomization cleaning to the industrial inkjet market in 2001 after it was found that steam cleaning does not prevent newer cartridges models that fire 4-5 Pico liter-sized ink droplets.from producing streaky prints, and that ultrasonic bath cleaning sometimes damages print heads. - By allowing the operator to manually direct an atomized spray of water at the cartridge, the cleaner ensures thorough cleaning of all cartridge printheads, cartridge interiors and exteriors, ink filtration screens, and adjacent areas.
Inkjet Factory’s refill unit -- based on SME’s VersaFill™ machine
This refill unit sets a new standard for professional inkjet refilling equipment. It is capable of filling up to 30 cartridges per hour in a deep vacuum chamber environment. This microprocessor controlled unit is fast and reliable and capable of refilling most every available inkjet cartridge.- Fully programmed cartridge settings.
- Filling variables such as fill amount, fill speed, vacuum time, and vacuum level can all be adjusted and set for optimum cartridge filling results.
- Universal filling fixture is adjustable for most every inkjet cartridge
- Features both pre-fill and post-fill vacuum for perfect refilling
- Vacuum suction for cartridge priming
- Deep vacuum chamber refilling with 25”+ mercury within the first thirty seconds of the refilling cycle.
- Unsurpassed refilling accuracy
The InkjetFactory™ system can refill the following popular models of OEM inkjet cartridges:
